Lack of energy affects all of us at one time or another. We may feel tired because of our busy schedules or because of our unhealthy lifestyles. There are many factors that contribute to fatigue, ranging anywhere from lack of sleep to lack of physical activity. Here are a few ways that you can boost your energy during the day.
One way that you can boost your energy is through exercise. A simple thirty minute walk can boost your energy level and get your blood flowing. It is recommended to spend at least thirty minutes a day on physical activity. Another way to boost your energy levels during the day is by snacking on nuts. Many of us make the mistake of grabbing something sugary as a pick-me-up. What ends up happening to our bodies is a quick burst of energy followed by a massive energy crash. However, when you snack on peanuts, the protein in nuts takes a while to break down and digest thereby providing you with lasting energy.
Another way to gain quick energy is to snack on a banana. The potassium in bananas is a key mineral in converting blood sugar into energy. It is a healthy and energizing snack. You can also boost your energy level during the day by taking a quick nap. A simple thirty minute nap stops your energy from falling even lower, while a full hour nap boosts your energy and increases performance. However, if you are at work and unable to take a thirty minute nap, you can even opt for a mint. Surprisingly a simple mint has the ability to temporarily boost your energy. The smell of a mint stimulates our trigeminal nerve thereby upping our alertness. So the next time you feel like you are fatigued and tired, try one of these simple approaches to boost your energy.
