To some it may all seem fine and even consider it a rising market, but if you analyze the fashion industry from an insiders point of view, you get the idea that nowadays there is an uncertainness around, even to consumers who mostly are just waiting for what will come out next, what will be the next trend. Collectively, everyone is just around waiting for the next big step. As a culture, a shift can be perceived in a big scale. Even fashionistas today are left questionable with the reality of fashion in stores and runways right now; they feel the need for more.

There is a wide list of reasons for these sudden changes in a 'booming' industry so innovative and with constant changes, for instance, the economy is getting stuck especially in the US where the dollar can't compare right now to other currencies like the pound or the Euro, and designer clothing is way too expensive. Women are even at a point where they are constantly waiting for sales and clearance from their favorite stores.

Another reason for consumers not being wowed at the shows is that black is still the main color seen in runways and stores, yes, it is a basic color that we all love, but when someone is looking for a change, usually black is not the path to go. People are looking for fun and connecting with their true selves, trying to hide from the social, political and cultural problems that the world is facing. Trends change too fast and not everyone can be on top and keep up with them. Some people can't even find designer clothing perfect for their bodies anymore.

The internet can also turn into an enemy for the industry, there are blogs and websites written by almost anyone about anything, people lose control in what to read and don't even know what to believe or what is really in and what is out in fashion. Technology as well, plays a major role in the eye of the consumer, trendsetting is not only for fashion, having an iPod or an iPhone nowadays is as important as the latest Louis Vuitton Bag and Christian Loubotin's. People would rather spend their money on these gadgets ensuring a long relationship with them, than buying clothes or accessories that will run out of style in a few months.

Consumers are also complaining about the poor fabrics being offered at insane prices, if the price is too low than it is also not convincing to some of them that desire clothing which can make them look like a million dollars. Can you imagine what would happen if people stop buying, stop lining up for the latest fashion magazines, sales and runway shows? I wonder if it would be worst for the industry to fall because of an economic problem, or to become an industry nobody is interested in because of lack of innovation and originality.
